Image if Roberts Had Said This

“I would hope that a wise Caucasian man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latino male who hasn’t lived that life.”

Thankfully he didn’t as there would have been no way he would have made it through the confirmation hearings. He would have been correctly labeled a racist and thus unfit to serve on the Supreme Court. No way liberals would have allowed Roberts to sit on the court.

But let someone say something just like this, such as President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor:

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

No outrage from the left on this, and don’t expect any. In fact watch conservatives be labeled as racists or non-understanding if they point out the hypocrisy.

Judge Sotomayor, as her past decisions show, has no problems engaging in race politics. In other words if someone is from a disadvantaged group, meaning non-white, especially non-white male, then laws granting said group special rights is not an issue. The blind eye of justice doesn’t have meaning to Judge Sotomayor. Rather the blindfold should be lifted to check the race and sex of said person to determine how the law should be applied.

The downside of all of this iis that the Republicans can do nothing to stop Judge Sotomayor. To stop her would require help from the Democrats, in other words don’t hold your breath.
