U.S. Will Pay $2.6 Million to Train Chinese Prostitutes to Drink Responsibly on the Job.

Again, our tax dollars at work.

The Powerline blog has a great blog on Obamanomics, and if it is working. Short answer: Doesn’t look like it.

When the Obama administration was pushing for its stimulas package, lots of pretty graphs were tossed up for people to go “Ooooo!” at and vote for the package, as the graphs showed the economic recovery would be much slower without the stimulus package. But reality reared its ugly head, as it often does, and looking at the current recovery we are actually doing worse then if we had not done anything.

I wonder how log it will take the administration to re-do the graphs and blame it on a bug in Microsoft Excel.

In his First They Came… poem:

Then they came for the Jews,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Jew.

The Powerline blog has a video worth watching. Then read Mark Steyn’s essay in the latest issue of Commentary magazine. Want to know how the militant Islam groups will try to succeed? Look at France for starters, then expand to many of the other European countries.

The Islam groups that claim to be about peace need to ste up to the plate and do more then say Islams is about peace. They need to denouce the militant wing of Islams and drive them from their religion. What groups will define what it means to be a member of the Islams religion? The ones that don’t back down

Jake Steinmann is offering a free Personal Defense Readiness seminar on June 6th, at the Redline Fight Sports in Cambridge, MA. If you live in the area and interested in self-defense then I highly suggest checking this out.

Out of town this week for work so not much blogging taking place.

Specter hints Kemp died of GOP agenda

Such a classy fellow, I’m glad he is with the Democrats. Boneheaded statements like that could make him the next Democratic vice-president candidate.

With Justice Souter announcing that he is stepping down President Obama will really get a chance to reflect his politically leanings. In speaking about the next justice he will select, President Obama has stated the following:

“I will seek someone who understands that justice isn’t about some abstract legal theory or footnote in a case book. It is also about how our laws affect the daily realities of people’s lives — whether they can make a living and care for their families; whether they feel safe in their homes and welcome in their own nation.

I view that quality of empathy, of understanding and identifying with people’s hopes and struggles as an essential ingredient for arriving as just decisions and outcomes”

Now President Obama did go on to say about also looking for someone that is “dedicated to the rule of law”, and several other things that would appear to be an attempt to satisfy conservatives, but he does add the qualifier that the person will share his (President Obama’s) respect for constitutional values.

In the first 100 days we have already seen what President Obama thinks of constitutional values. To him they are mearly a quaint idea that he won’t let get in his way of what he wants to do: attempt to move the court to the left. President Oabama probably won’t attempt to appoint someone that is way out to the left for fear of losing some Democratic support, but he will go as far as he think he is able.

Tony Bennett, a great singer and performer, displays he isn’t that great at understanding politics and economics. Bennet recently made this statement CNSNews.com:

“I love everything he’s done and everything he’s doing,” Bennett said of Obama. “I think we should give him all-out support for anything he wants to do. We should all help. He’s giving our country back to us, and that’s the laws of the land – the citizens own the country.”

I won’t knock Bennett for loving everything President Obama has done, that comes down to your personal preferences in politics. As for giving the country back to us and who owns this country, Bennett needs to do a little thinking. If anything, the government is taking more from us, not giving back to us. One could agree with Bennett in that citizens own the country, the devil in the details is in which country. Headed down the path the US is currently headed I would say it is going to be China.

Lucky for, and I would thus say say unlucky for us, finding examples of Congress acting in a stupid way is easy to do. The latest is members of Congress deciding they know best how a national champion for college football should be determined. The source for this is a senator from some state that is ticked off because the college team from his state wasn’t in the championship game.

If one stops and thinks about the important issues out there that Congress should be focusing upon, I doubt determining a college football national champion is going to make the top ten list. It wouldn’t even make it on my list at all as I don’t see where Congress has the power to muddle in this area. I think we need a Constitutional Amendment that states that at the start of each day that Congress is in session, each attending member of Congress has to stand up and recite Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. And I mean one by one. Lets hear that recited 100 teams each day when the Senate is seated, 435 in the house.
